Bed Bath & Beyond Late On Paying Employees

Bed Bath & Beyond, a popular home goods retailer, is facing criticism after employees say it failed to pay out paychecks on time via direct deposit on Wednesday, according to sources online. These sources have not been verified to work for the company and this article may be factually incorrect.

Update: According to many of the same Redditors, their check was received later the same day. It was only a few hours late. This could be a sign that the company is just shuffling around employees in accounting and payroll.

The deposits are typically made at 2:30 p.m. according to redditors who supposedly work for the company, but the money failed to appear in employee bank accounts as expected. Employees reached out to Bed Bath & Beyond customer service representatives, but were given no explanation or resolution. One manager said that they would get the money tomorrow February 2nd, 2023.

Employees use the subreddit found at https://www.reddit.com/r/bedbathandbeyond to discuss amongst each other news related to the company. A thread on this sub has over a dozen people saying their paycheck is late. You can read the thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BedBathandBeyond/comments/10r96bj/pay_delayed/

Many of the affected employees took to social media to voice their frustrations, with some saying to "get out now while you can" and others saying they didn't receive bonus pay in the past.

The company has yet to issue an official statement addressing the issue and the information may not be accurate.

The incident is the latest in a series of missteps for the retailer, which has been struggling with declining sales in recent years. Bed Bath & Beyond recently announced the closure of more than 200 stores in the U.S. and Canada, and is in the process of a major restructuring. Harmon stores are all closed as of now and liquidations at Bed Bath, & Beyond stores are occuring as this article is being written.
